YouthBuild Greater Stark County

YouthBuild Greater Stark County is sponsored by Project REBUILD, which empowers young people and adults in Stark County to build brighter futures through education, workforce development, life skills training, and community revitalization opportunities. Through the YouthBuild Greater Stark County program, young people earn their high school diploma while gaining hands-on construction training, industry certifications, leadership development, and pathways to meaningful careers.

YouthBuild Greater Stark County (YBGSC ) offers a deeply community-centered experience that combines education, workforce development, leadership, and individualized support in ways that extend far beyond the classroom or jobsite. YBGSC emphasizes developing the whole person by creating opportunities for young people to build confidence, leadership skills, professional experience, and meaningful community connections.

One of the biggest distinctions of the program is the variety of career exploration opportunities available to participants. In addition to the strong construction training pathway, which includes hands-on renovation work, OSHA certification, and real-world jobsite experience, they also offer a customer service career track that helps participants strengthen communication, professionalism, teamwork, and workplace readiness skills. This flexibility allows participants to explore different career interests and discover pathways that best fit their goals and strengths.

Partnerships throughout Stark County create unique experiences for young people. Through collaboration with Habitat for Humanity, participants had the opportunity to help build a home alongside skilled professionals, giving them direct experience on a large-scale residential construction project while serving the community. Their partnership with the University of Mount Union and Alliance Elementary School allows participants to mentor younger students through after-school programming, helping them to develop leadership and mentorship skills while becoming positive role models in the community. Partnerships with organizations like TIQVAH further expand access to personal development opportunities, support systems, and community engagement experiences.

YBGSC prides itself on its culture of support and accountability that participants experience throughout the program. Staff work closely with young people to address barriers, celebrate progress, and support them to build both personal and professional stability. YBGSC prioritizes long-term success by empowering participants to gain confidence, leadership abilities, career readiness skills, and a stronger sense of purpose. At YouthBuild Greater Stark County, participants are not only earning diplomas and job skills — they are actively contributing to their community, building relationships, and developing into leaders while preparing for sustainable futures.
