In December, young people from around the world gathered virtually for the 2021 Global Opportunity Youth Network (GOYN) Youth Equity Summit. At this year’s event, young leaders and GOYN partners discussed how to create more structurally just and equitable livelihood and opportunity ecosystems for youth.
John Valverde, president and CEO of the global nonprofit YouthBuild USA, has been elected as a member of the Council on Criminal Justice (CCJ), a national invitational membership organization and think tank.

In a strong testament to the global nonprofit’s longstanding success in transforming lives and communities, YouthBuild USA has been awarded a $23 million contract from the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL). This new contract marks the twenty-seventh year YouthBuild USA has served as the federal technical assistance provider to local YouthBuild programs.
