Reinaldo’s journey is a true testament to resilience and determination. At just 13 years old, he faced the heartbreaking loss of his mother and made the tough choice to leave high school to support his family. But Reinaldo didn’t let this setback define him. Driven by his passion to become a welder, Reinaldo sought opportunities to continue his education outside the traditional classroom. He discovered the YouthBuild program through the recommendation of a friend who had graduated from the program, which became his beacon of hope.
Joining the CPLC YouthBuild Las Vegas program in January 2024, Reinaldo wasted no time diving into the curriculum. Dedicated, he sharpened his academic skills and earned crucial certifications in occupational safety and construction. Reinaldo’s commitment and leadership didn’t go unnoticed. He became a role model for his peers through active involvement in community projects, earning respect for his punctuality and reliability.
Despite facing challenges, Reinaldo persisted. From passing his HISET exam in March 2024 to obtaining his OSHA 10 and NCCER certifications, he proved his unwavering determination to succeed. Reinaldo graduated from the Las Vegas Institute of Welding in May 2024 and the YouthBuild program in June 2024. With promising job prospects, Reinaldo is ready to embark on a fulfilling career fueled by his resilience and the support of the YouthBuild community. Reinaldo’s journey exemplifies the power of perseverance and opportunity. He shows us that with determination, any obstacle can be overcome on the path to success.
